An air of urgency mixed with nonchalance hung in the air. People could be seen running from one place to another. Others were moving with their cameras trying to get a few comments from those who had gathered there – the celebrities. And then there was laughter, relaxed smiling faces and a general atmosphere of fun. This was the Van Heusen Men's Fashion Week. Though men and fashion don’t go hand in hand in India, the concept of dressing in style caught up. Men wanted to look their best. So, the birth of the metrosexual man took place. Being fashion conscious was no more a thing that women did. Designers had a windfall. Purple, red, orange, magenta were some of the colours that designers started to experiment with for men’s clothing. Jackets with embroidery, floral print jackets, tote bags, yellow shoes, red shoes, you name it and the designers created. A whole new world for men’s fashion opened up.

It was therefore, not surprising that Abhishek Gupta and Nandita Basu who were showcasing their spring-summer collection 2010, the designs were bold. With T’s in oranges and browns, the message was clear – let’s rebel. The floral jackets seemed to be a bit too bold a move for the designers. Despite Indian men keeping pace with the fashion, it would take some time for a macho man to be caught wearing one.

In contrast to Abhishek Gupta and Nandita Basu were Manoviraj Khosla’s designs. Since he primarily deals with men’s clothes, his designs were more formal. Nehru jackets, formal suits, T-shirts, waist coats formed a major part of his collection. The jackets with their straight cuts were both chic and elegant. Khosla also used variants of green, lilac, orange and blue, adding colour to the otherwise blacks and grays. What makes Khosla’s designs special is that they are definitely wearable. Wear them and wow the ladies at a party.

The showstopper for his collection was Anil Kumble. The man sure knows how to wow those around him – whether on the field or off the field. Wearing a black formal suit, Kumble walked the ramp like a pro. Walking down the ramp amidst clapping, Kumble exuded elegance and a carefree, spirited self-confidence of style and manner. Though people are used to seeing Bollywood stars walk the ramp for designers, Dino Morea’s appearance sure created what was intended. Wearing a black and white formal suit, Morea took everyone with surprise. Some of the other designers who had showcased their work earlier (on day 1) were Rajvi Mohan, Himmat Singh and Aslam Khan.

How do I remove the red/orange from my hair?

I had a medium brown box color put on my hair back in Oct. It turned my hair a redish brown. Now on Saturday I bought a medium natural blonde box color and put it on my hair. It turned my hair a red/orange color. ugh! I have less then 50% grey hair. I would like to color my hair a more natural or dirty blonde color. Any suggestions? Thank you!

since your original hair has a lot of red, it might be difficult to get exact color you want.
you can put ash color toner over it - it cast out some orange tone. It's better to get it in beauty supply. They can help you!
