How do I prevent my hat from irritating my forehead?

I have a cute beret hat, and when I wear it,my forehead gets itchy and I get zits.I already have acne and dry skin.How do I prevent it from making my forehead hurt?I am planning to wear it for an all day event and dont want that to happen.Plus, if I work really hard to get rid of my acne for the event, wearing the hat will make it all coma back!Please help!Thanks!

What can I do?

I would take the hint and give up the hat. But if you are determined to fight this, you might try getting the hat dry cleaned or whatever you do to remove old skin cells and oil (and the bacteria and mold that might be using them as a home and food source) from the felt. If you are having an allergic reaction to the cashmere, itself, this won't help, of course.

You might also wash your forehead with a pyrithione zinc dandruff shampoo (i.e.DHS Zinc, Zincon, some versions of Head & Shoulders or their generic competition) just before wearing the hat, since this leaves behind a little of the antimicrobial active ingredient in your skin that fight the growth of almost anything.
